KATY MUNGER @ THE REGULATOR BOOKSHOP; Pt. 1

Welcome to the blog 'Author Appearance'.

Thanks for stopping by.

I've been videotaping readings at The Regulator Bookshop sporadically for a while now. I'll be trying to get my 'backlist' of videos online here and over at the Regulator Bookshop blog (www.regulatorbookshop.blogspot.com).

And I'll be taping new readings (hopefully weekly) and trying to get them up here. I'll post videos of author appearances at The Regulator and hopefully I'll eventually get out to some other bookstores in my area and record some of their author appearances.

I'll also be trying to scout around the wide world of the web for other author appearance videos which I've found, enjoyed watching, and which I think you might enjoy as well. There are so many different forums for these glimpses of those mysterious creatures, authors, and my hope is that this blog can become a humble colloquium of sorts where you the visitor may happily acquaint yourself further with some of your favorites, and make new acquaintances with writers you might not otherwise have met.

Kicking off the proceedings will be a local favorite, Katy Munger, reading from her two new mystery novels. I think this video series will run to three parts. The first part is Katy discussing the backstory of the last few years in her life, leading up to the publication of the two new titles. During this appearance at The Regulator on Wednesday 9 September 2009, Katy reads from 'Desolate Angel', written under the pen name 'Chaz McGee' and published by Berkley Prime Crime, and then from 'Bad Moon On the Rise', published by Thalia Press.

At one point in Pt. 1 Katy says that it has been seven years since she was in front of an audience at The Regulator with a new book to read from. It is great to have two new novels from Katy and I'm happy to have documented her 'return' author appearance at The Regulator. Katy has been leading/hosting a mystery book club at The Regulator for several years (as she mentions) and she has been a regular customer for longer than that, and it is always a pleasure to have her stop by, but it is a particular pleasure to have her at the podium discussing her new work. To learn more about Katy visit her website.
